What is at stake?
Why is it important?
The culture of a company corresponds to how the team will make decisions when the founders are not in the room. It is what will empower employees to be more autonomous.
At the MVP stage, culture primarily allows founders to agree on a decision-making process and to bring coherence to their actions.
3 actions to implement right now
1️⃣ Define the first 3-5 key values of the company among the founders
Leadership Principles
- 👥 Members First
- 🚀 Fearless Ambition
- 🤝 Distributed Ownership
- 👁 Radical Transparency
- 🌱 Personal and Community Growth
2️⃣ Use these values to define the startup's processes (thus embodying these values in daily practices)
For example, in defining the customer support process, in recruitment, etc.
3️⃣ Use these values to define the management style
In particular, decide on:
- The approach to feedback: how to encourage regular feedback? how to welcome and implement feedback?
- The approach to celebrating achievements: how to highlight daily progress? how to recognize the successes of each team member?
- The approach to autonomy: how to promote initiative-taking? how to ensure important responsibilities are given and allow team members to grow within the team?
